read it with an accent, darling.

Breakfast at Tiffany's, anyone? *raise hand*

I think, or at least in my own opinion I think, Audrey is truly famous for the classic pin-up look that even Katy Perry or any others who sported it now has much to be desired. Not that I don't like Katy Perry's version, but I think you can't beat the pioneer, see? But anyways, I have always loved Audrey's style particularly her makeup. Beat flawless right? Seeing as I am not related to the Hepburns, the only most possible way left to create this look is by using makeups.

A few notes before I proceed;

1) This is in nowhere similar to the look posed by Audrey, it is inspired by. Meaning, it is in my own version because I am not a professional. I do it because I like it.Italic
2) Though I've made the look, I intend to be talking purely on the lips how-to. But I'll still summarise the whole.

3) This is embarrassing to say- but since I'm alone in college (which explains why I go ga-ga and play with my toys), I have captured it using my computer webcam which, though it is not the best, it is the only thing workable now. I just can't take pictures with my camera by myself, not even with the timer on. I know, a pity. The colors don't pick up so good on the webcam, I had to do some extra shading and highlighting on the face so that you can actually see what I'm doing. In every day real life however, that wouldn't be necessary.

All the products used;

Overall, I used a make up base first (after I applied moisturizer and sunscreen and wait for a good 10 minutes to let them sink in my skin), then I went on to apply my foundation. After that, I apply concealer for the undereye circle and to cover spots on the face. Then I apply some powder to set the makeup.

For eyes, I used an eye primer first, then I used a pencil eyeliner to draw a thin line on my eyes as a base. Right after that, I used a liquid eyeliner on top of the line which I did with my pencil eyeliner so that the color is more intense- this time I draw the line quite a bit to the edge (not too much). And then, I used my third eyeliner- a pen felt-tip one. I think it is necessary seeing as Audrey's eyes are quite dramatic with the eyeliner and subtle eyeshadow look. Then, I apply coats and coats of mascara. As you can see, I used two mascaras. I did nothing to my water line- just a coat of mascara.

Then, I scuplt the face using bronzer with an angled brush in a "number 3" stroke from the cheek area and bring it up to the middle of the forhead and to the chin. If you noticed, Audrey's cheeks are shaped in so that is the illusion I want to create. Then, using the same bronzer, I made a thin line in each side of the nose and rub the color in. For highlighting (refer to Audrey's face:- besides the bronzy area, she has some white glowy parts as well), I used a white highlight color on the T-Zone area, on the bridge of the nose to create an illusion of a sharp nose, on the cupid bow, right under the eyes in a slated motion and a little on the chin.

Now for the lips!

I think it's the only part where I didn't follow the picture up there. I chose a red with a coral undertone rather than a coral color lipstick like the one Audrey is wearing. Before, I have had the problem where a pink lipstick doesn't look as pink on my lips or, a nude lipstick simply washes me off, making me look like a dead zombie. The problem is that our lips have experienced discoloration and, where sometimes our lips are slightly darker looking when it used to be all pink and natural. I blame it to constant lipstick wearing- but there is an easy trick which I used to achieve the color of the lipstick as I see straight from the tube, on my lips.

1) The lips get dark because of dead cells. To take these off, used a lip scrub and a lip balm daily.

2) When doing makeup, don't forget to apply concealer on the lips as well. Put just a tiny bit and rub it in. Then, set the concealer with a powder. This wil ensure long-lasting color, an important key when you're out for a dinner or an event and you don't want your lipstick to go all smeared and lost by the end of the night.

3) Line, Line, Line the lips. If there is one key that I would not skip, it would be this. Lining your lips with a lip pencil will ensure you have the right shape before putting on lipstick. Once you've lined, used your finger and rub the color on an upward motion to cover the whole lips so that you wouldn't have a strange lipstick line visible. Why? Because most of the time, the color of your lipstick and your lipliner aren't the same, so you have to blend in the color of the lipliner.

4) Put lipstick on. Using a lipbrush is good for this but it is optional, I prefer to use it straight out of the tube.

5) Smack the lips using a tissue paper to ensure you have the right amount of lipstick.

6) An additional tip, I regularly apply some concealer around the lips just to make sure the lips pop out more.

7) You could top it up by using a lipgloss. I didn't use it for this look but the one I like is this Woo Baby! Lip Plumper by Etude House. I used it just in the middle of the upper and lower lips and not all over.

So yeah, that is how I spend my free time alone LOL. Till next time, ILYSM.
