newbie and casualty

i've decided that since i'm in a long holiday and have long since indulge myself in guilty pleasures, i would do myself good in err, picked out my lovelies. and so i have been in a hunt for a bronzer, and i'm not going to kid myself into asking in more beauty stores if they have bronzers. i mean, i know the high-end ones like MAC or BOBBI BROWN counters do have them and the salesgirl there would have known what bronzers are, but i would be more pleased if they came in drugstores. LOL yeah so the more adventurous me would have to hunt for them cheaper ends myself.

so in I went to Shins, a beauty store that could pass of being a drugstore if half of their items weren't so pricey, especially their skincare and haircare products. the makeups are cheap and random enough, even I like the Bloom lines but they don't have bronzers to my liking. until i found this,

Jordana Cosmetics. I haven't heard of them but after a few swatches at the store I know that I want to get to know them better :) This one is named Stardust, and they have two other bronzers which i loved but would look tacky on me, called Sunlit Bronze and Classic Bronze. those, i believe, would work well with darker skintones.

what i like about Stardust? i would have to say that they work well for what they are, and they do give out that 'dirty fake tan' look to my face. my cheekbones are more well-proportioned. it is not at all orange-y as it look. all in all, Stardust is a nice change to have around when i get bored with the pink fluff blushes. only a downside though, that i have to sweep two brushes and even more to get the effect i want on my cheeks. it looks pigmented in the case but to get the desired effect, i can not be liberal. but i like them still :)

and the price is very affordable for what it does. i bought it for only RM13.40, when i tried on the testers, the price tag was RM19.90. lucky i check the actual prices. so if anyone wanted this, make sure you have the right price checked.

well, on another note..

I love Elianto for a very good reason, and not just because they are friendly to the pockets. their products, especially what i called "everything baked" are quite nice. name it-baked powders (which i think could pull of as bronzers), baked eyeshadows and also, case in question, baked blushes are all gorgeous. the case in question in particular have served me with pride (okay, i sound like a freaking army wife). if it didn't shattered, you would see its beautiful color streaks. i don't underestimate Elianto. this Korean brand has done wonders to the casts of Spa Q. but if you are not too careful, you will probably end up like me :(

facts: i was rushing to pack when i drop this one on the floor. i thought i had it's cast cracked. but no, i had the powder shattered.. sobs sobs..

but not to worry, i won't let this be the end of it. i would probably scoop out the broken pieces into a different container and leave the remaining, as always. i have lots of casualties on my hand by the way that i know better what to do with them now.
